The now restored Santo Inácio de Loyola Fort is a must-see. It is a place used for presentations, meetings, visits, religious activities and much more. Its construction was greatly influenced by the traditions of the Portuguese crown and Dutch expeditionaries during colonial Brazil.
Fort Saint Ignatius of Loyola
In 2002, Marize Alonso, who was a student of the Technical Course in Tourism* at the time, obtained from Mr. Antonio Lucio, a fisherman and resident of Tamandaré, several old photos that were in three albums, to help compose a paper on the History of Tamandaré. Always kind, Mr. Antonio Lúcio authorized the reproduction and use of the images that portrayed his past and so many residents of that time.
