Tamandaré is located at the northern end of the Costa dos Corais Environmental Protection Area - APACC, which extends down to Maceió-AL. A marine nursery with a great diversity of corals and fish, it is an unmissable attraction for those who enjoy raft trips and diving.

The Ariquindá River, on the border between Tamandaré and the municipality of Rio Formoso, has unparalleled beauty, bordered by mangroves, and is home to countless species.

The now restored Santo Inácio de Loyola Fort is a must-see. It is a place used for presentations, meetings, visits, religious activities and much more. Its construction was greatly influenced by the traditions of the Portuguese crown and Dutch expeditionaries during colonial Brazil.

One of the main attractions of Praia dos Carneiros, the Capela de São Benedito, a small 18th century church is considered a postcard, where wedding and baptism ceremonies take place.

Located on Praia das Campas, it is of singular beauty.

Characterized by tall coconut trees, fine, clear sand and calm, warm waters practically all year round, its landscape is shaped by the estuary (mouth) of the Formoso River and a large barrier reef that forms natural pools at low tide.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Tamandaré, in Campas, during low tide, a long stretch of sand forms where there are constant walks and children playing.

In 2002, Marize Alonso, who was a student of the Technical Course in Tourism* at the time, obtained from Mr. Antonio Lucio, a fisherman and resident of Tamandaré, several old photos that were in three albums, to help compose a paper on the History of Tamandaré. Always kind, Mr. Antonio Lúcio authorized the reproduction and use of the images that portrayed his past and so many residents of that time.
